This toy car is the result of an assignment in which we were tasked with designing and fabricating a toy out of wood. I chose to design a toy car with a mechanism that would cause the head of the figurine to move in a reciprocating motion as the wheels spun. The name "racecar cat" came from the cat shaped figurine in the drivers seat. As I designed the main body, I took inspiration from 1930's racecars while accommodating shapes that are toddler friendly and easily machinable in a CNC machine.

Initial sketch and render showcasing the car's mechanical properties.

Renders of the finalized design.
